A BIG ROAR IN SANDOWN AS SANDHAM GARDENS’ DINO ISLANDS IS OFFICIALLY OPENED
A brand new £500,000 dinosaur-themed adventure golf course has opened in Sandown today (Wednesday) as part of the major investment being made at Sandham Gardens.
‘Dino Islands’ takes players on a prehistoric adventure into a land of dinosaurs with waterfalls, smoking volcanoes and animatronic dinosaurs. The multi-level course is over 2,000m2 in size and provide 18 holes of family fun suitable for all ages, priced at just £6.50 per adult and £5 per child.
Over the past few months the course has been designed and constructed by international specialists Rockart UK. It forms part of the wider redevelopment of Sandham Gardens which is set to include a netted high-level course, beach huts and other improvements over the next 12 months. The go-kart track has already been opened, as has the all-important ice cream kiosk.
Christian Zanti, Operations Manager at Sandham Gardens said:
“I’m thrilled to be able to announce the opening of Dino Islands: A Golf Adventure in time for the Easter weekend and the springtime influx of holidaymakers to the Island.
“This new course really complements our existing Go Karting attraction and provides a fully immersive experience for families visiting Sandown”.
Situated beside the seaside at Culver Parade, the re-designed Sandham Gardens is set to be a popular addition to Sandown this summer. It is being run by Heritage Attractions GB who also operate The Needles Landmark Attraction. The company have gained a 50-year lease from Sandown Town Council.
Marino Zanti from Heritage Attractions Ltd, has said:
“This development is the attraction that the Isle of Wight deserves and we see it as vital for the regeneration of Sandown.
“We believe it will give a serious boost to the number of visitors coming to the area”.
Dino Islands: A Golf Adventure is now open to the public… and a sunny Bank Holiday is expected.
