Something new is coming to the Isle of Wight, bringing with it fun for all the family. On Wednesday 25th & Thursday 26th July, Osborne House in East Cowes will be host to the inaugural London Capital & Finance Osborne Horse Trials. Visiting the trials what better place to stay than the Montpelier in Sandown
Visitors are being given the opportunity to witness the first event of its kind on the Isle of Wight which will be brought to life in just a weeks’ time.
Fans making the trip to the Isle of Wight (and locals too!) will get the chance to rub shoulders with the likes of Andrew Hoy, Australian Olympian who holders no fewer that 3 gold medals and has an eventing career spanning 45 years. Andrew will be riding three horses across the 2-day event.
The traditional format of eventing has been streamlined by BEDE Events Managing Director, Stuart Buntine. Stuart says:
“We have introduced a short and snappy dressage test, show-jumping and a thrilling cross country challenge, all taking place within just 5 hours to really up the test!
“We’re so excited to be introducing the Isle of Wight to both eventing and its new format. We love spreading the word of our sport, so to reach out to the island makes us feel very excited for the future of eventing.”
Amazingly, 6,500 Island primary school children have been given free tickets to next week’s event. There is certainly plenty of things to do for all the family…
